HIGH-PERFORMANCE ENGINE.
Engineered for the race track, designed for the road. The BMW M TwinPower Turbo eight-cylinder petrol engine ensures a power delivery of 625hp, exceptional torque of 750Nm, and receives a cooling and oil system deserving only of those with credentials ideal for the race track. Equipped with Variable Vane Geometry turbochargers and high-pressure fuel injection, these Competition models achieve 0-100km/h in 3.9 seconds.
M xDRIVE.
Paired with the instinctive M Sport Differential, the intelligent M xDrive guarantees maximum traction and dynamics to deliver a supreme driving experience. To ensure notably enhanced directional stability at all times, the system distributes the engine's torque between the front and rear wheels before the M Sport Differential splits it between the two rear wheels as required. This also provides improved traction and agility.
The unmistakable M driving feeling is preserved thanks to the rear-wheel-biased version of the M xDrive system. This setup ensures that the front wheels are only utilised if the rear wheels reach their power-transferring limits and additional traction is required. You are also able to configure the distribution of power via the Settings menu.

The engine’s immense thrust is accompanied by a stirring soundtrack courtesy of the specially designed exhaust system. Its distinctively sporty sound feeds into the unmistakable quartet of tailpipes that are finished in High-gloss Shadowline. Fine-tuning of the engine sound, using electrically controlled flaps, suppresses intrusive frequency ranges and gives greater voice to the engine’s linear power delivery and high-revving tendencies. Its acoustic character automatically changes according to the driving mode selected.

Ultimate comfort and exceptional driving dynamics: M Adaptive Suspension Professional includes the technology of Adaptive Suspension, harnesses the power of dynamic performance control and caters to the needs of the BMW X5 M and X6 M Competition thanks to its M-specific tuning.
From comfortable to extremely athletic, you can adjust the driving characteristics via Drive Performance Control to enable whichever driving style is most appropriate at the time of your journey. While the dynamic potential is increased, active roll stabilisation reduces body roll in bends thanks to the active electro-mechanical roll stabilisation which ensures higher stability.
